However, metal production is energy-intensive and leaves a significant environmental footprint. We are committed to making metal production and processing as sustainable as possible. Our unique technology can substantially reduce the environmental impact of metal production. DTE's solutions empower recyclers to maximize the use of recycled aluminum, reducing emissions, energy usage, and reducing reliance on primary aluminum. Since recycling aluminum requires 95% less energy than primary production, we view improving recycled content as a crucial part of reducing emissions worldwide.
