About us

At DTE, innovation meets expertise in aluminum production. Established in Iceland in 2013 by seasoned aluminum industry professionals, we’re revolutionizing metal by making the production of essential metals more sustainable, safe, and efficient.

ESG Commitments at DTE:
Forging a Sustainable Future

Environmental Commitments: At DTE, we acknowledge the pivotal role metals play in advancing human progress, particularly in the transition toward “green” technologies. Light metals, such as aluminum, are essential for lightweighting, electrification of vehicles, renewable energy production, and the development of new technology. However, metal production is energy-intensive and leaves a significant environmental footprint. We are committed to making metal production and processing as sustainable as possible. Our unique technology can substantially reduce the environmental impact of metal production. DTE's solutions empower recyclers to maximize the use of recycled aluminum, reducing emissions, energy usage, and reducing reliance on primary aluminum. Since recycling aluminum requires 95% less energy than primary production, we view improving recycled content as a crucial part of reducing emissions worldwide.

Social Initiatives

Our dedication to social responsibility extends to the heart of our operations. At DTE, we prioritize the safety, well-being, and development of our team members. By automating manual processes, we seek to enhance the safety of workers in the metals industry. We foster a working environment that encourages innovation, values diversity, and upholds a commitment to a fair and respectful workplace for everyone. Our goal is to contribute positively to the communities we serve, working in harmony with stakeholders, including the Icelandic government, educational institutions, and industry clusters.

Governance Focus

DTE's governance framework is built on the principles of transparency, accountability, and empowerment. We believe that clear communication, access to management, and transparent procedures are essential for fostering a culture of trust and excellence. Our commitment to an exceptional workplace involves continuous efforts to provide growth opportunities, ensure a healthy work/life balance, and embrace diversity within our teams. We view diversity as an ongoing journey of improvement, welcoming challenges to our assumptions and norms to foster continuous learning and growth.
